Fall 2010 Men’s Ministry Plan
Are you new to Fellowship Church or a seasoned member? Do you want to become a better man? If you have been around us long enough you will see that Fellowship has a heavy emphasis on building into men because as the man goes, so goes the family, church, and society. Our approach is basic, simple, and not very flashy. It involves small groups of men, discussion, and content related to the journey of manhood. This fall we have three time tested opportunities. All three are open to any man, you choose your own level of involvement. Beginning Sunday August 29th there will be sign up sheets on the front table at the church.
THE QUEST FOR AUTHENTIC MANHOOD
WHEN: Wednesday mornings at 6am beginning September 15th. We will run 13 weeks in the fall and then pick back up for 11 weeks beginning next January.
WHERE: At the church
WHAT: The Quest for Authentic Manhood is the foundational level or ground floor of manhood. This 24-session study focuses on a man’s core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. It will help men deal with various identity issues by looking back at past wounds and other things that may have distorted their idea of biblical masculinity. Throughout the course of the study, men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, “What is a man?” and “What am I living to be?” This captivating journey helps men: resolve wounds from their past, embrace a biblical definition of manhood, and develop their own personal manhood plan.
WINNING AT WORK AT AT HOME
WHEN: Wednesday mornings at 6am beginning September 15th.
WHERE: At the church
WHAT: Winning at Work and Home, a 16-session study, focuses on the two areas that are central to a man’s life: career and family. It will begin to build the walls of manhood through study dealing with a man’s chief responsibilities. It explores how a man can enjoy and engage his work and how he can relate to a woman in a whole new way.
DISCIPLESHIP PODS
WHEN: beginning the week of September 13th, each group will decide on a time and meet weekly for a year, sometimes more depending on material coverage.
WHERE: The group will decide
WHAT: discipleship pods are small groups of men who meet to focus in on three areas: Heat (our spirituality), Light (our knowledge of the Christian faith), and Leadership. These groups have a heavy emphasis on the basics of the Christian faith and doctrinal study, fostering disciplines, and addressing leadership issues (personally, at home, at work, in church, etc). They will be led by one of the Pastors or leaders in the church.
