Membership

Membership matters. We believe that the Biblical place, safest place and healthiest place for every single Christ-follower is a submitted membership to a local church. It was the assumed position of every beleiver in the New Testament. Biblically speaking, an essential element to being a Christian is to be committed to a local body of fellow believers.

We desire people who join with us in membership to understand who we are and where we are going, to share our dreams and our vision for the future. As a result we offer a number of avenues for getting to know our church as you move toward membership. Our membership process consists of the following:

Discovery

At Fellowship we understand that finding a church home is a challenge and that you most likely have lots of questions. It truly is our desire for you to find a place where God can grow and use you for His glory. Discovery is a two-week class that is held periodically throughout the year and is designed to give you a better picture of who we are and what we envision God doing in the city of Louisville through us. This time is designed to be an interactive opportunity for you to discuss questions about the church directly with the elders and pastors.

Explore

Explore is a six week series that meets periodically on Sunday evenings that walks through the foundational doctrinal truths upon which the Christian faith stands. Each meeting concludes with an extended question and answer time that once again gives you the opportunity to interact with the pastors on beliefs, doctrines, and any other questions you might have about your faith.

Meeting with an Elder

An essential element of Fellowship Church is connection. We desire you to be connected with the leadership of our church. A vital part of our membership process is sitting down with one of the elders of our church so that we can know your story and you can know ours as well.

Baptism

Baptism is an expected act of obedience for all followers of Jesus Christ. As such, we require all of our members to have publicly professed their faith as a believer through the obedient act of baptism. We will accept as valid any form of believer’s water baptism if it is in agreement with the considered convictions of the individual believer, but we will practice baptism by immersion, the mode that best portrays the believer’s death, burial, and resurrection with Christ.
